Lee
Cowley - Manager
Lee has really
come through the ranks at Creasey Park. After a background of 15 years
at Luton Town as a youth coach, Lee took over Dunstable's under 18's alongside
Gary Worth. Their collective work saw two league titles, two cup winners
medals and two runners up medal. After some time away coaching in the
USA, Lee then took on the reserve team with an impressive record in his
season in charge. The Blues' second string won the Suburban Northern Division,
reached the final of the league cup and semi final of the league shield.
Lee now faces the challenge of the first team job at Dunstable Town, which
he's sure to relish.
Gary
Levy - Assistant Manager
Gary stepped
up to first team management with Lee Cowley in the summer of 2008 after
their tremendous success with the reserve team. Gary was on the books
at Leyton Orient and has coached in France before coming to Creasey Park
as goalkeeping coach and eventually moving into the management team
Paul Taylor - Captain
The backbone of any good team is its goalkeeper. They do not come any
better than "The Hammer" as he is affectionately known. He commands
his area, is a good shot stopper and his ratio of penalty saves is very
high.
Nick
Gardner
Nick is a goalkeeper to look out for in the future. After leaving Stevenage
Borough to reunite with Will McLaughlin, Nick has gone from strength to
strength featuring for the youth, reserve and first teams.
Mark
Blower
Although only 17 Mark has achieved more than many senior goalkeepers in
Bedfordshire with numous caps for Bedfordshire county, county cups and
appearances at all levels of football to his name. Mark will be looking
to match Nick Gardner and Jamie Smith who have both started for the Blues,
in the Southern League, at the age of 17.
Stuart Strange - Player/Coach
Stuart returns to Creasey Park again this season, this time adding the
string of coach to his bow. A player who is comfortable anywhere on the
park and is always committed to the cause. Can also pop up with a few
goals over the course of the season and even some with his head!
Leigh Harrington
Joined the club in December 07 and received a baptism
of fire against Leamington. A steady no-nonsense defender who can distribute
the ball with ease. After a pre season training regime of chasing lady-boys
in Thailand, he is looking to make an impact for the Blues this season.
Matt Baldry
Returned to the club after two seasons at Hitchin
Town. He is Mr. Versatility, an accomplished fullback and a powerful centre-back.
He can also add power and vision in a midfield role.
Lee Burgoyne
Burgers has fast gained a reputation for his set pieces. In his time at
Creasey Park he's scored direct from corners twice in a game, scored a
free kick from his own half and numerous other dead ball feats. Whether
he's on the wing or at left back, you can always guarentee he'll create
chances.
Michael Moss
A strong, fast
defender, he made his Dunstable Town first team debut last season as a
17 year old. The manager of the first team rates him very highly and is
confident of his future with the team. Another player who was part of
the treble-winning U18 team of 2006/07.
Jack Nelly
Jack is another youngster, with great potential.
A tall centre back who settled in at the heart of the defense last season.
Although at university this season he is still made himself available
to the club.
Nick Nolan
Signed from Stotfold, Nols plays at right or centre
back. Played and won at Highbury in his school days for Cardinal Newman
in the English Schools' FA Cup. No nonsense defender who always seems
to be at the centre of any mischief.
Paul Marsiglio
Paul has come through the ranks at Dunstable and
has been a main stay in the successful youth and reserve teams at Creasey
Park. A tall defender who should make the transition to first team look
quite easy.
Ross McLaughlan
Ross has played at youth and reserve team level
for Dunstable Town and has become a useful utility player, being able
to shore up any defence and give an extra bite to any midfield. Another
shining example of the quality that the Icknield connection has brought
to the club.
Stuart Richardson
A member of the same Luton Town youth team as Ross Hanley and Russell
Preston, Stuart is looking like another great addition to the side by
Lee Cowley.
Danny Ryan
- Vice Captain
A remarkable defender who plays with the enthusiasm
of a 19 year old but the anticipation and decisiveness of an aged professional.
Danny is able to cope just as well in the centre of midfield, as in defence.
His influence and leadership are clear to see in that he was made reserve
team captain at the age of 17.
Mark Shadbolt
Another player recruited from Hemel Hempstead Town.
Has turned in some great performances at left back. He tackles like he
means it and when circumstances permit gets forward into dangerous areas.
Jonathan Barnett
Most of the Dunstable faithful will remember Jono,
from the Ryman League days, as an exciting attacking midfielder who will
pop up and score quite often, not a lot has changed. A versatile player
who adds a bit of experience whilst maintaining the youthful nature of
the side.
Ryan Cowley
Ryan is another product of Dunstable’s successful
youth policy. He was part of the title winning reserve side last season
and will look to break into the first team this season. Plays out wide
and loves to run at and get behind defenders to deliver threatening crosses.
Stuart Sinclair
Ex-Luton Town youth player, who made a handful of
appearances for Dunstable in 05/06 before spending a season with Cambridge
City in the Conference South. Last season played at local rivals Bedford
Town and has returned to Creasey Park this season to also run the Football
in the Community training sessions.
Moses Oleleye
Mo turned down several offers from other clubs this
season, to play for Dunstable Town and has made him an instant hit with
the supporters. A busy and effective midfielder who has played for Barton
Rovers, Hitchin Town and Kettering Town.
Adam Reid
Central midfielder who has came through QPR football
academy before going to Barton Rovers. A busy player in the middle of
the park with an eye for going forward. Signed for Dunstable Town during
the 07/08 season, but injury has kept his appearances in single figures.
Richard Harker
Richard has made the step up from AFC Dunstable
look easy. Comfortable on the ball, quiet and hard working midfielder,
who popped up with a goal or two in pre season and will be looking to
add to that tally.
Ross Hanley
Ex-Luton Town youth player. He is our pocket dynamo,
hard in the tackle and has great awareness. He also has scored some excellent
goals this season. Never gives less than 100% and can more than hold his
own if the game gets physical.
Dan Picknell
Splits can play in the centre of midfield or out
wide on the right. Was unfortunate to miss the second half of last season
due to injury but is back with a vengeance this season. Splits will always
be remembered by the Dunstable fans for his FA Cup hat-trick against Wingate
& Finchley in 07/08.
Darrell Elliott
Darrell was at Wootton Blue Cross at the beginning
of last season and came to Dunstable a couple of months into the season
and played in our reserves. Not only did he quickly become captain of
the side, he also ran away with the Suburban League top goal scorer.
Terry “Jay Jay” Billy
Terry is another player to have progressed through
our youth and reserve teams. A totally unpredictable player, who can pull
goals out of nowhere. Instantly recognizable by his frequently changing
hairstyles and head attire.
Krzysztof Matyskiewicz
Krzysztof Matyskiewicz is not only a mouthful, he
is also a handful. Our big strong Polish forward was signed this season
from Wootton Blue Cross and has made a quick impression at this level.
Ryan Quinn
Young Ricky is an excellent prospect as an all around
striker. In the youth and reserve teams, he has scored and created many
spectacular goals. His pace and skill earned his reputation as a super-sub
during a first team spell in the Southern Premier whilst just 16.
Russell Preston
Russell was signed on the eve of the derby game
against Barton Rovers last season. He came off the bench that day to score
against his old club on his debut for Dunstable Town. A pacey striker,
who knows many of our squad from his Luton Town youth days.
Luke O’Malley
Luke is 20 years old and has been out injured for
some time. He is now on the road to full recovery with Dunstable Town
following his move from Borehamwood. A dangerous striker, who is looking
to make a name for himself following his rehabilitation.
Luke Maitland
A former Luton Town youth team striker. After spending
a year at university in America, he returned to England earlier this year
and saw out last season with St. Neots Town in the UCL. Signed during
pre-season and has impressed as his match fitness has improved. Will undoubtedly
become a huge asset to the club.
Dean Whittaker
At 6'7" it's hard to mark Dean from corners but this
well travelled striker is also a handful with the ball on the floor. As
well as his his previous spell at Creasey Park and the likes of Bedford
Town, Dean found cult status at King's Lynn.
