Getting
To Know...Part Two
As we embark on our first season back in the Molten Spartan
South Midlands League, we'll be taking a look at the clubs
we'll be facing this season in a three part series.

Harefield
United
FC
Harefield
United caused the biggest disappointment for Blues fans in
the 2002/03 SSML Premier winning season. The SSML Challenge
Cup Final finished 4-1 to Harefield over the two legs with
the only highlight being Peterborough United's Shane Blackett
running the length of the pitch to score a superb solo goal
for Dunstable.
The Hares are the only club who go back further than Dunstable,
with their formation taking place in 1868.

Haringey
Borough
FC
Our
trips to the only club actually on White Hart Lane have always
been enjoyable, perhaps none so much as the 6-0 win in August
2002.
Haringey have held a 30 year unbroken run in the Isthmian
League and been FA Amateur Cup Finalists in their 102 year
history.

Hatfield
Town
FC
Dunstable
have only ever faced The Hats in a competitive match once,
an FA Trophy 1st Qualifying Round back in 1971/72. The Blues
won 2-0 and were stopped in the 3rd Qualifying Round by Atherstone
Town in a 2nd replay.
Hatfield have been promoted in each of the last two seasons,
can they make it a hat-trick?

Hertford
Town
FC
The
two clubs have never faced each other in a league but have
met in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy in the 1970s with Dunstable
winning both times.
After 32 years in the Isthmian League, Hertford joined the
Spartan South Midlands in 2007, with top half finishes each
season.

Hillingdon
Borough
AFC
The
clubs last met in the SSML before both clubs had stints at
step four. The opening day of the season saw a 1-1 draw at
Creasey Park, before Town won 2-0 in the away tie.
Hillingdon have achieved a unique feat, finishing as runners
up of both the FA Trophy and FA Vase. The have also had an
extended FA Cup run, reaching the third round after defeating
both Wimbledon and Luton Town.

Kentish
Town
FC
Kentish
Town only formed in 2003 and this season will see the first
meeting of any kind between the two teams.
The Townies finished bottom of the SSML Premier by 11 points
last season but saw Holmer Green take the drop over ground
grading issues.

Kingsbury
London Tigers
FC
Another
club who will be a first for Dunstable Town.
Kingsbury Town spent 20 years in the Isthmian League before
the 2006 merger with London Tigers, they have maintained a
place in the SSML Premier ever since.
That's
the end of part two, part three will follow in the next week
or so. Don't forget to check out the club directiory in the
first team section for all the important information on every
club we face in the league, cups and friendlies this season.
